there were 116 cases of Covid 19 in Auckland, 58 cases in Counties
Manukau, 117 in Waikato, 118 in the southern and 108 in Waitemata.
QA How many cases are there altogether in the five areas?
116 + 58 + 117 + 118 + 108 = 517
100 + 100 + 100 + 100 = 400
10 + 50 + 10 + 10 = 80
6 + 8 + 7 + 8 + 8 = 37
400 + 80 + 37 = 517
6 + 8 + 7 + 8 + 8 = 37
400 + 80 + 37 = 517
QB How many cases are there in Auckland and Counties Manukau altogether?
116 + 58 =
100 + 0 = 100
10 + 50 = 60
8 + 6 = 14
100 + 50 + 14 = 164
QC How many cases are there in Waitemata and Southern altogether?
118 + 108 =
100 + 100 = 200
10 + 0 = 10
8 + 8 = 16
200 + 10 + 16 = 226

There were 275 sheep on Ben's farm.
He sold 167 sheep to his neighbor.
How many sheep were left on his farm?
In this problem, I will subtract 167 from 275; so
275 - 167 = ?
First, I will subtract 100 from 200: 200 - 100 = 100
Then, I will subtract 60 from 70; 70 - 60 = 10
Finally, I will subtract the ones, 5 - 7 but it is not possible because 5 is smaller than 7,
so I will add 10 to 5 to make it 15; now I can subtract 7 from 15, so 15 - 7 = 8.
Then, I will add 100 to 8: 100 + 8 = 108
So, 108 sheep will be left on Ben's farm

Ben has 165 chickens and 47 ducks
on his farm. How many birds are there
on his farm all together?
on his farm. How many birds are there
on his farm all together?
60 + 40 = 100
100 + 0 = 100
100 + 100 + 11 = 211
First I added the tens (60 + 40 ) = 100
Next, I added the ones (5 + 7) = 12
Then I added 100 + 100 + 12 and I got 212
So Ben had 212 birds on his farm altogether.

1/4 of 80 =
So I divided 80 by 4, 80/4 =20
So 20 million masks will be
distributed to South Island
distributed to South Island
